Silhouette-based human pose analysis for feedback during physical exercises
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper I propose a computer vision-based method for analyzing the human pose during physical exercises performed for a virtual trainer. Body part labeling and difference analysis between a measurement and reference silhouette are combined into a result consisting of a set of vectors per body part, indicating the errors made. The approach depends heavily on a statistical model of the human body, and does not use large pose databases. The limitations and capabilities of the virtual trainer environment are carefully considered. The method is evaluated on a sample video, and the results are discussed.

متن کاملReal-Time Human Pose Inference using Kernel Principal Component Pre-image Approximations
We present a real-time markerless human motion capture technique based on un-calibrated synchronized cameras. Training sets of real motions captured from marker based systems are used to learn an optimal pose manifold of human motion via Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA). Similarly, a synthetic silhouette manifold is also learnt, and markerless motion capture can then be viewed as the ...
متن کاملModel-based Sparse 3D Reconstruction for Online Body Tracking
In this paper a new approach to 3D human body tracking is proposed. A sparse 3D reconstruction of the subject to be tracked is made using a structured light system consisting of a precalibrated LCD projector and a camera. At a number of points-of-interest, easily detectable features are projected. The resulting sparse 3D reconstruction is used to estimate the body pose of the tracked person. Th...

Purpose: Despite the widespread use of cryotherapy in sports fields there is a lack of certain evidence of its impact of it on muscle activation especially following fatigue-induced exercise. This study aimed to assess the impact of cryotherapy alone and after plyometric exercises on knee muscle activation during the drop jump task. Method: 35 active female subjects (mean age of 22.74±2.10, m...
متن کاملA Silhouette Based Human Motion Tracking System
This paper proposes a system for model based human motion estimation. We start with a human model generation system, which uses a set of input images to automatically generate a free-form surface model of a human upper torso. We subsequently determine joint locations automatically and generate a texture for the surface mesh. Following this, we present morphing and joint transformation technique...
